Open Activity Groups Seeking New Members

Canasta Group - Contact Lori Sies (Chair) if you are interested in playing Canasta.  

Domino Group 2 - Looking for a Chair and additional players.
Bunco Group 2, Days - Contact Catharine Sherman (Chair) if interested, group has one vacancy.

Single Ladies Night Out (SLNO) - Looking for a new Chair (currently on summer Hiatus).
Pour Decisions - Chair is Karen Wessling. This is an open group, monthly RSVP required & group limited to the first 15.  Check Event Calendar in September for details.
Dining Out Group 2 - Chair is Rose Anna Martin. Monthly RSVP requested for limited reservations. Check Event Calendar in September for details.
TGIF - Chair is Joni Plomp. Meets 2nd Friday of each month from 7 to 9 pm for BYOB cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Check Event Calendar in September for details. 
Down and Dirty Garden Club - Chair Lori Sies. This group accepts new members with a nominal fee ($10.00). New members and visitors are welcome. Meetings will resume the first Friday in September. 

Please note, some of the activity groups take a break during the summer months to enjoy traveling and spending time with family.  These groups will resume in September. Please check event calendar for summer events. 

Membership

Membership in Newcomers of the Eastern Shore is open to residents who live in one of the five cities comprising the Eastern Shore: Daphne, Fairhope, Montrose, Point Clear, and Spanish Fort. We accept residents who live in any of these five cities, even if not new to the area.
Our website and membership directory provide comprehensive information about all the Club’s activities.

 

What We Offer

Luncheon meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from September through May, with speakers selected from the community or business organizations.  Summer coffees, have been held in June, July and August on the third Tuesday.  All luncheon meetings and coffees, with reservation details, are listed on our Events Calendar. 

About Us


Newcomers of the Eastern Shore welcomes new residents, promotes the social and educational life of Club members, and supports local charitable endeavors.


Since 1977, our Club has helped area residents, especially recent arrivals, acclimate to the Eastern Shore  of Mobile Bay by providing an atmosphere of friendliness and fun. 

Members make lasting friendships by participating in the various luncheon programs and activities that are offered during day and evening hours.
